Short track racing has been a part of the Clemens family since
the mid 1950's beginning with my grandpa "Tiny" Clemens. His
passion for motorsports carried over to my father "Dusty"
Clemens. Dusty grew up at the short tracks around the Flint area,
and eveolved into one of the most respected car guys in the
area. Even though his heart belonged to the drag strip he
decided that he was going to get me into circle track racing at a
very young age. He first bought me a quarter midget in 1991
when I was only eight years old. We continually raced it in the
midwest region until 1998. After I had outgrown the quarter
midget we took two years and built a Thunder Truck for Auto City
Speedway. I raced these trucks with great success over two and
a half seasons. I won 18 features, 13 in a row at one point and a
Track Championship, narrowly missing a second one by just one
point. After taking the Thunder Trucks by storm, we built an open
wheeled modifed, where our success continued. In our five
seasons we have won twelve features, and the 2005 Dixie Motor
Speedway Track Championship. We have experienced great
success over the years as a father/ son operation, and look
forward to continuing our tradition of winning for many years to
come.
